San Diego, CA July 6 , 2007 -Sparkletts, one of the bottled water brands produced and distributed by DS Waters, is proud to have sponsored the San Diego Fair, which took place in San Diego,California from June 8th to July 4th. The San Diego County Fair is the largest annual event in San Diego County and the sixth largest fair in the United States, drawing more than 1.2 million visitors each year. The 2007 “Salute to Heroes” theme celebrated those among us whose words or deeds set them apart, such as public safety personnel, soldiers, sailors, doctors, nurses, paramedics, fathers, mothers, children and service animals.
Sparkletts provided both 5 gallon bottled water containers for the offices associated with the San Diego County Fair and whole and half-liter bottles for sale by vendors at the Fair. Sponsoring the Fair was a way for Sparkletts to increase exposure for its bottled water brand while getting involved with a community event that is tightly woven into the history of San Diego, which is not far from the birthplace of Sparkletts, in Los Angeles.

The San Diego County Fair began in 1880, when a group of San Diegans organized an agricultural fair to bring county farmers together to share ideas, see who had the best citrus fruit, who baked the best pie, and who had the fastest horse. After that first fair, the county fair was held annually with a few exceptions in various county locations until 1936, when it moved to its present Del Mar home.
